Japan Travel Packing List Essentials
- External battery for phone as you will be using it a lot for transit, translation, etc
- Comfortable shoes for walking are a must, open toed shoes not recommended (3 pairs is enough)
- Small backpack or purse to carry your travel items during the day
- Universal adapter to charge your eletronics
- Passport and copies to ensure smooth travel
- Universal Drivers License if you desire to rent a car or drive go karts through Tokyo
- Respectful Attire that covers shoulders and knees if entering a religious area to show respect
- Shoe Bag some inns require shoes to be removed prior to entering
- Face masks and sanitzer since many places inn Japan still wear masks
- Swimsuit for mixed bathing areas of hot springs
- Weather appropriate attire may entail jackets, rain coats, heavy winter gear, etc
- Travel toiletries most accomodations will have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

- JR Pass if it is cost effective for your trip and shipped to your home
- Travel Apps like Google Maps, Google Translate, Shinkansen SmartEx, Wanderlog, should be downloaded
- Wi-Fi ensure your sim is set up or pocket wifi is taken care of prior to departure
- Travel Insurance if desired to ensure your trip, some credit cards may provide this service for free. In addition, look into travel heatlh insurance.
- Transit Card if virtual, ensure you download and add money to SUICA or PASMO
- Visa Requirements check therequirements for your country before you go
